AFG Industries
has introduced Radiance Ti, a new self-cleaning and energy-efficient glass
product. The glass features a thin and durable coating which harnesses
ultraviolet energy from the sun to disintegrate dirt particles, which
are then smoothly rinsed away by rain or a hose. The glass is said to
be unique because it has the added benefit of solar control, and can maximize
efficient performance of heat and air conditioning with its superior insulating
capabilities. Suitable for both residential and commercial applications,
Radiance Ti can be custom-tempered to accommodate specific consumer needs
or building regulations.
The Imperisill threshold from Imperial Products, Inc., is constructed
with an all-composite base and a fully adjustable, vinyl rail that will
not rot, rust, or corrode, the company states. It features a one-piece,
100 percent composite design, which eliminates joints, helping to avoid
leaky sills, it continues. In addition, the threshold has a built-in jamb
adapter to lift wood jambs above ground level where water and snow might
cause damage. Suitable for 4 9/16 and 6 9/16 inch jambs, the threshold
is available in various widths, including spans for continuous sidelite
and patio door systems, the company reports.
The Ultraflex Control Systems (UCS) line of window and skylight operating
systems features electric chain operators, linear actuators, manual remote
control systems, and smoke vent electric and pneumatic systems. Its Twin
Master operator is capable of opening, up to 15 inches, large windows
and/or skylights weighing 154 pounds. It features two double link chains
and a 24-volt voltage supply, the company points out, and is equipped
with an electronic stop mechanism in the event of an overload. The operator’s
two pushing points assure watertight corners in the closed position and
stability during windy conditions in the open position, the firm reports.
Endura Products' new Hurricane Astragal Kit provides builders and remodelers
with a method of achieving DP50 ratings on existing French doors. The
kit contains a 1.5 x 2-inch steel flush bolt retainer (strike) and a solid
aluminum reinforced flush bolt that prevent blowout in high-velocity wind
zones, the firm explains. Installation takes approximately 10 minutes;
to install, screw the steel bolt strike into the header above the astragal
and replace the old flush bolt with the new one, the supplier states.
Tested in accordance with ASTME-330, the kit has a design pressure rating
of 50, negative and positive.

manufacturer AGB, designed for locking inswing or outswing casement windows,
awning windows, and operable sidelights. The hardware’s modular
design allows many different sash sizes and handle heights, and extensions
allow sash heights up to 10 feet, the supplier states. All AGB multipoint
systems offer a choice of backsets, optional locking cams, and corner
drives, and a choice of yellow-plated or black paint finishes. Many components
are made of cold-forged steel for additional strength. A broad selection
of contemporary and traditional decorative handles are available to match
any decor.
Purfect-Glaze, a
new back-bedding system, enables window manufacturers to bond glass to
vinyl and wood sash, the company states. From National Starch & Chemical
Corp., the system includes hot melt application equipment, a specialty
sealant, and turnkey services for integrating with current processes,
it is noted. Based on polyurethane technology, the sealant has passed
AAMA verification for backbedding and has been subjected to additional
tests including UV exposure, accelerated weathering, performance under
wide temperatures and humidity, air-water-structural testing, low temperature
flexibility, and pump tests. After 24 hours of ambient cure, the strength
of the adhesive exceeds 400 psi, the company reports.

introduced its American Palette, a selection of 108 additional colors
designed to provide customers with flexibility in matching, complementing,

shutters are offered in a variety of open louver arch-top and raised panel
styles, in both off-the-shelf and custom sizes.
