AFG Industries has introduced Radiance Ti, a new self-cleaning and energy-efficient glass product. The glass features a thin and durable coating which harnesses ultraviolet energy from the sun to disintegrate dirt particles, which are then smoothly rinsed away by rain or a hose. The glass is said to be unique because it has the added benefit of solar control, and can maximize efficient performance of heat and air conditioning with its superior insulating capabilities. Suitable for both residential and commercial applications, Radiance Ti can be custom-tempered to accommodate specific consumer needs or building regulations.

The Imperisill threshold from Imperial Products, Inc., is constructed with an all-composite base and a fully adjustable, vinyl rail that will not rot, rust, or corrode, the company states. It features a one-piece, 100 percent composite design, which eliminates joints, helping to avoid leaky sills, it continues. In addition, the threshold has a built-in jamb adapter to lift wood jambs above ground level where water and snow might cause damage. Suitable for 4 9/16 and 6 9/16 inch jambs, the threshold is available in various widths, including spans for continuous sidelite and patio door systems, the company reports.

The Ultraflex Control Systems (UCS) line of window and skylight operating systems features electric chain operators, linear actuators, manual remote control systems, and smoke vent electric and pneumatic systems. Its Twin Master operator is capable of opening, up to 15 inches, large windows and/or skylights weighing 154 pounds. It features two double link chains and a 24-volt voltage supply, the company points out, and is equipped with an electronic stop mechanism in the event of an overload. The operator’s two pushing points assure watertight corners in the closed position and stability during windy conditions in the open position, the firm reports.

Endura Products' new Hurricane Astragal Kit provides builders and remodelers with a method of achieving DP50 ratings on existing French doors. The kit contains a 1.5 x 2-inch steel flush bolt retainer (strike) and a solid aluminum reinforced flush bolt that prevent blowout in high-velocity wind zones, the firm explains. Installation takes approximately 10 minutes; to install, screw the steel bolt strike into the header above the astragal and replace the old flush bolt with the new one, the supplier states. Tested in accordance with ASTME-330, the kit has a design pressure rating of 50, negative and positive.

Functional Fenestration, Inc., has introduced multipoint espagnolettes from Italian manufacturer AGB, designed for locking inswing or outswing casement windows, awning windows, and operable sidelights. The hardware’s modular design allows many different sash sizes and handle heights, and extensions allow sash heights up to 10 feet, the supplier states. All AGB multipoint systems offer a choice of backsets, optional locking cams, and corner drives, and a choice of yellow-plated or black paint finishes. Many components are made of cold-forged steel for additional strength. A broad selection of contemporary and traditional decorative handles are available to match any decor.

Purfect-Glaze, a new back-bedding system, enables window manufacturers to bond glass to vinyl and wood sash, the company states. From National Starch & Chemical Corp., the system includes hot melt application equipment, a specialty sealant, and turnkey services for integrating with current processes, it is noted. Based on polyurethane technology, the sealant has passed AAMA verification for backbedding and has been subjected to additional tests including UV exposure, accelerated weathering, performance under wide temperatures and humidity, air-water-structural testing, low temperature flexibility, and pump tests. After 24 hours of ambient cure, the strength of the adhesive exceeds 400 psi, the company reports.

In addition to nine standard shutter colors, Vantage Products Corp. has introduced its American Palette, a selection of 108 additional colors designed to provide customers with flexibility in matching, complementing, or accenting any home’s color scheme. The new colors are offered with a lifetime warranty against fading or chipping, it is noted. The shutters are offered in a variety of open louver arch-top and raised panel styles, in both off-the-shelf and custom sizes.

The KT eclipse e2 hardware, weatherseal, and sill system from KrisTrack Mfg., Ltd., is designed for the production of wide opening, exterior folding doors. Suitable for use with wood, aluminum, or vinyl doors, the series can accommodate up to eight 90-pound doors, each 36 inches wide, which can be folded off to either side of an opening, the company states. The maximum possible opening utilizes 16 doors, spanning 48 feet, it is noted. The series is said to be fully adjustable and easy to install. Hardware is available in seven finishes including solid brass and stainless steel.
